An Adelaide fast food restaurant astonished customers after they successfully ordered and drove off with soft serve cones on Sunday evening.
Following an afternoon grocery run, Dave, 36, and his family entered the Hungry Jack’s drive thru expecting to confront bad news yet again.
But on this special Sunday, the family came away happy campers, each double-parked with soft serve cones.
“Just unbelievable,” Dave said.
“The look on my daughter’s face when she heard the machine was up and running — I mean — I could just bottle that up and replay it forever.”
Dave’s daughter Lucy, 4, said she begged to the “Ice Cream Gods” as they queued up in the drive-thru.
“I crossed all my fingers and all of my toes,” she said.
“Like Daddy says, dreams do come true.”
The Hungry Jack’s outlet like many fast food chains around the country is famous for having a nonfunctioning ice cream machine 364 days a year.
Engineers worldwide are still trying to understand the root cause of the phenomenon.
More to come.
