Private school graduate backs up cocktail-themed 21st with wine tour for 22nd

An Adelaide ex-private school girl delivered no surprises yesterday when she created a Barossa wine tour Facebook event for her 22nd birthday.

Kimberley Maxwell, who last year held an all-white, cocktail-themed 21st, otherwise known on social media as #KM21, said she was left with no other choice but to organise a bus tour through some of Adelaide’s finest wineries.

“Mummy was like ‘what are we going to do for your big 22nd?’ and like I’d already been to Annabel and Poppy’s wine tours,” she said.

“So. many. good. photo opps! Like imagine the cheers boomerangs I can’t even!”

Kimberley, who has deferred her health sciences degree this semester to pursue her interest as an assistant at local fashion brand, Pretentious The Label, claims she is not a trend follower and actually appreciates wine.

“Idk (I don’t know),” she said.

“Like over the last year like my palette, or whatever you call it, has like really matured so like I drink a savvy B and chardy here and there as well as like of course my moscato [giggles],” she said.

There is a growing expectation for many of Adelaide’s ex-private school girls to back up their massive 21st celebrations with a casual wine tour with close friends (all 80 of them).
